What to Send Someone Who Just Had a Baby (When You Want to Send More Than Flowers)
Here’s something I’ve noticed…
When a new baby arrives, everyone asks about the baby.
How’s the baby sleeping?
Who does the baby look like?
How much does the baby weigh?
And I love every one of those questions.
But somewhere in the middle of all that excitement, I always find myself wondering…
Who’s checking on Mom?
That’s usually where I start when I’m choosing a gift.
🤍 A Handwritten Card
I know this sounds simple.
But I honestly believe a heartfelt note is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.
Not because the paper is special.
Because your words are.
Years from now, she may not remember every gift she opened.
But she might remember exactly how you made her feel.
🤍 Dinner She Doesn’t Have to Think About
One less decision.
One less thing to cook.
One more evening she gets to simply be with her family.
Sometimes practical gifts become the most thoughtful ones.
🤍 Something Cozy
A favorite blanket.
Comfy pajamas.
A soft pillow.
Little comforts have a way of making hard days feel a little gentler.
🤍 A Journal
I’ve always loved giving journals.
There isn’t a right way to use one.
Maybe it becomes a place for funny stories.
Maybe little milestones.
Maybe prayers.
Maybe nothing for months.
It simply waits until it’s needed.
🤍 A Gift That Celebrates Her
One thing I’ve always believed…
Babies deserve to be celebrated.
But so do the women becoming mothers.
That’s one of the reasons I created Pillow Packs.
Not because moms need more stuff.
Because I think they deserve little reminders that someone is thinking about them, too.
🤍 A Small Keepsake
Some gifts quietly become part of a family’s story.
An ultrasound photo holder.
A framed picture.
A favorite book with a handwritten note inside.
They aren’t flashy.
They’re simply meaningful.
🤍 Simply Showing Up
You don’t always have to buy something.
Bring coffee.
Drop dinner on the porch.
Send a text.
Offer to hold the baby while she showers.
Or just remind her…
“You’re doing a wonderful job.”
I think those words matter more than we realize.
My Favorite Thought
Whenever someone asks me what they should send after a baby is born…
My answer is almost always the same.
Send something that reminds Mom she isn’t forgotten.
I think that’s the gift she’ll remember most.
🤍 Until Next Time…
Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today.
If someone came to mind while you were reading this…
Maybe that’s your invitation to reach out.
Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness become the stories people carry with them for years.
Thank you for sharing a cup of coffee with me today.
