☕ COFFEE WITH CELESTE
Building a Business While Building a Childhood
There’s something wildly humbling about being an entrepreneur and a mom.
One minute you’re making big decisions, dreaming up new ideas, answering emails, and convincing yourself you’re building an empire.
The next minute, someone needs a snack, someone can’t find their shoes, and someone is yelling “MOM!” from a completely different room.
And somehow, you’re supposed to be good at all of it. 😂
I’ve been thinking lately about how entrepreneurship and motherhood have a lot more in common than we give them credit for.
Both require patience you didn’t know you had.
Both demand flexibility when you had a completely different plan.
Both will humble you faster than you can say, “I’ve got this.”
And both require you to keep showing up, even when you can’t immediately see the results.
Some days I feel like I’m crushing it. Other days I wonder if I’ve accomplished a single thing besides keeping four boys alive and answering emails from my car.
But here’s what I’m learning.
My kids aren’t watching a perfectly balanced mother build a perfectly successful business.
They’re watching a woman try.
They’re watching me figure things out, make mistakes, pivot, celebrate the little wins, and occasionally lose my mind over technology. 😂
And maybe that’s worth something, too.
Maybe building a business isn’t taking away from the childhood I’m helping create.
Maybe, in its own messy way, it’s becoming part of the story.
So here’s to the moms building businesses, the entrepreneurs raising babies, and everyone trying to make something meaningful in the middle of ordinary life.
We’re building more than businesses.
We’re building examples.
And hopefully, somewhere along the way, we’re teaching our kids that dreams are worth working for.
Coffee’s getting cold. Someone needs me. You know the drill. ☕️
